Scholarship application deadline Jan. 15, 2009
Current Murray State University students and incoming freshmen and transfer students are reminded that the deadline to submit a scholarship application is for the Fall 2009 semester at MSU is 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009. New students must be fully admitted to the university by that date to be considered for any scholarship. Returning MSU students who have received a scholarship in the past need only submit an online application in order to be considered for scholarships for which they meet the minimum requirements. They will not need to submit an updated résumé or letter of recommendation.
Incoming freshmen who meet eligibility requirements may automatically receive a scholarship based on their grade point average and ACT score. A Scholarship Index Grid that contains details about this is available online. To be considered for the automatic scholarships or alumni and foundation scholarships, new students must submit an online application, one letter of reference from a high school administrator and a résumé.
A completed scholarship packet makes incoming new students eligible for any alumni and foundations scholarships for which they meet the minimum qualifications as outlined in scholarship guidelines.
The scholarship booklet, which details qualifications for awarding, and the scholarship application can be found online at www.murraystate.edu/scholarships. Students are also reminded that they should begin completing the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible for the 2009-2010 year.
Scholarship application forms may be completed online or downloaded for print. Applications and/or supporting documents can be faxed to the MSU scholarship office at (270) 809-6971, or delivered or mailed to the office at Murray State University, Office of Scholarships, 122 Ordway Hall, Murray, KY 42071-3305.
Questions about the scholarship process may be directed to office staff at (270) 809-3225. Students may also check the website at www.murraystate.edu/scholarships for additional information.
