New graduate program in Information Systems
Murray State University is now accepting applications for admission into their new Master of Science in Information Systems program. The program commences in Fall, 2008. A number of applicants have already been admitted into the program. Those with Business and Information Technology (IT) skills can complete the program by taking seven core courses and three electives for a total of 30 credit hours. Those lacking business and IT skills may be required to take some foundation courses.
The program will equip students with essential managerial and technical skills that can be applied in the vast and growing field of Information Systems. The field includes areas such as Software Development, Information Management, Business Intelligence, Information Security, Information Systems Planning and so on. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics “growth in computer information systems managers is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations”.
